The use of DPF regeneration fluid, or PAT Fluid as it's frequently called, is vital for diesel vehicles equipped with DPF filters. It works by lowering the temperature at which soot burns, making it easier for the DPF filter to regenerate. This regeneration is important for maintaining the vehicle's performance and ensuring that harmful emissions are effectively eliminated

Is it against the law to remove my diesel particulate filter (DPF)?

This activity is considered unlawful and comes with penalties. If vehicle owners are discovered, they could incur fines reaching £1,000 for cars and £2,500 for vans. Additionally, taking out the DPF might invalidate your car insurance coverage.
